MP3: Empires - "Bang"
Yeah, they're an export from Chicago, but, aside from maybe the vocals, you might mistake them for being English. The sound is reminiscent of something along the lines of The Smiths plus The Stone Roses on speed -- at least in that vein. Emotive, fast-paced, and anthemic. The production is pretty clean, but it comes across sounding more raw which is definitely what you want with a vocal delivery such as this one. When producers tell you to "go for it" or really "push some air" while recording vocals, they probably have something like this in mind.

what about the album they already put out (last year) "Howl"? it was mighty good.
I haven't had a chance to check that out yet, but per your suggestion I will.
