Calm Palm Vapor - "Run the Tables"

Calm Palm Vapor - "Hate To See You Smile"

Calm Palm Vapor label themselves "Space Motown" which seems rather fitting seeing as how it sounds as though they craft their songs inside a spacecraft hovering high above the Earth. They look out the window, down at the big blue marble below and gain a better perspective of things. It allows them to create music that requires the vastness of space to expand and survive. Deep in their open sound you find traces of indie rock and neo-psychedelia under the prominence of post-shoegaze/spacegaze. It's the sound of dreaming in technicolor, of seeing the universe. Textured synths, live drums, and walls of guitar reverb create a perfect canvas for singer Pierogi's heartfelt, almost shy delivery. It's a warm beauty driven by a vast sound.

Calm Palm Vapor is a duo out of Chicago, IL consisting of Pierogi (guitar, synths, keys, bass) and secretwars (samples, MPC, drums & percussion, visuals, colours). They will be touring the U.S. this fall.
