So, if you haven't figured it out yet, The Thermals are releasing a new album entitled Personal Life on September 7th (Oh man, hold up...THAT'S REAL SOON!) through Kill Rock Stars. If you haven't heard the first single "I Don't Believe You," then you're missing out. It's one of finest slices of power pop-meets-indie rock in ages, and you can download it below.
And while we're on the topic of "I Don't Believe You," you should know that Pitchfork just debuted the Whitey McConnaughy-directed music video. It features Sleater-Kinney's Carrie Brownstein waking up to the song as her alarm clock music. She tries to shut it off but she can't, and soon finds herself running around her house trying to figure out where that damn racket is coming from. The other cameo at the very end only adds to the magic of this video (I laughed out loud because of it).
