Show IX: "Songs That Mean Something To Me"

Terrible weather. Thought about bringing my acoustic to the studio to play around, but with the monsoon like conditions, I buried that idea. Instead I made a nice long playlist and looked up the names of people Craig Finn mentions on The Hold Steady's new release Boys and Girls In America. Listener count was higher than usual.

The playlist for the evening was made in haste. Although, I did choose songs that document some part of my life over the past few years. Each time I hear one of these songs, there is a distinct memory attached and the music really does something for me.

Ryan Adams- "This Is It" from the album Rock N Roll
Pretty Girls Make Graves- "3 Away" from the extended playing Pretty Girls Make Graves
Pixies- "Monkey Gone To Heaven" from the album Doolittle
American Football- "Honestly" from the album American Football
Elvis Costello- "Kinder Murder" from the album Brutal Youth
The And/Ors- "Flexiclocks" from the album Will Self Destruct
Cee-Lo Green- "Ophidiophobia" from the album Snakes On A Plane: The Album
Cold War Kids- "Hospital Beds" from the album Up In Rags and Robbers & Cowards
From Safety To Where- "Only Now" from the album Irreversible Trend
Mock Orange- "Payroll" from the album Mind Is Not Brain
Portugal. the Man- "Gold Fronts" from the album Waiter: You Vultures!

Ta det lugnt.
