Well, this was the mix I was scheduled to play last week, the week following Valentine's Day. I'm single, maybe eternally, but I decided to make this mix not because I was feeling down about the holiday but because, for some reason or other, everyone seemed to be making a big deal about it. Maybe it's just a product of growing older. I guess relationships mean more now than they did a few years ago. Plus, I highly doubt so-and-so was dating so-and-so in fourth grade. Those kids had to have been lying. Really? So dad drove you guys to the movies and you came home and went your separate ways? Sounds serious. Going steady, then, I suppose?
This was just a mix of songs relating to that whole holiday. The songs might not be specifically geared towards Valentine's Day, but they are about girls, love, and all that terribly frustrating stuff.
Mötley Crüe - "Girls, Girls, Girls"
King Khan & The Shrines - "I Wanna Be A Girl"
Prince - "Cinnamon Girl"
Radiohead - "High and Dry"
Supergrass - "Mary"
The Stills - "Still In Love Song"
The Modern Lovers - "Someone I Care About"
Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels - "Little Latin Lupe Lu"
Ryan Adams & The Cardinals - "The Hardest Part"
The Replacements - "Unsatisfied"
Bon Iver - "Skinny Love"
Sondre Lerche - "The Curse Of Being In Love"
Aired: 2/26/09

Nothing. The Mitch Ryder version just fit better in the playlist.
