NEW VIDEO: Sam Bisbee - "Oxygen"

Sam Bisbee spends most of his time writing music for other people, composing and arranging music for film, television, and other artists. He was the man behind the production and arrangment of Cat Power's take on the Blondie track "Hanging On the Telephone" for Cingular. Recently, he has been working with Law & Order: Criminal Intent actor Vincent D'Onofrio on a screenplay for a film that is currently in production.

Bisbee also makes time for his own music and is about to release his fourth album. On that album is a song titled "Oxygen." It's a contemplative acoustic number about living life without regret and making the most of the time you have. The Tobias Perse-directed video for the song is featured below and, like the song, is both simple yet thought-provoking. The video plays perfect complement to the clever and playful lyrics. What's most fascinating is that the entire thing was created using only a projector and modeling clay.

His brand new LP, Son of a Math Teacher, is out on CD via le Grand Magistery on March 17th. The album has guest spots from Leona Naess, Lucie Wainwright Roche, Mike Viola and Liz Tormes , and was co-produced with Britt Myers (Essex Green, Robbers On High Street, Sam Champion) and Bo Boddie. You can purchase it here from Amazon.
