LISTEN: OOFJ - "Opal Skin"

Even the quiet, lonely moments have their own symphony. It's the minute details of life that we tend to miss which can provide us with the most rewarding insight and experiences. But once you recognize the little bits and pieces of the whole, you can finally learn to truly appreciate the bigger picture. It's these sorts of moments that remind us that distance is not a physical obstacle as much as it is a mental one. And with the right mindset, no distance is too great to conquer.

The synmphonic (synth + symphonic, eh?), somewhat jazz-infused, pop of OOFJ (prounounced O of J) illustrates the brilliance of the simplistic with "Opal Skin." Give it a spin below.

The grace of an orchestral cinematic score and the intimacy of bedroom pop meet in this chilling, sweeping cut from OOFJ's new album, Disco to Die. How fitting then seeing as how the duo (Jenno Bjørnkjær and Katherine Mills Rymer) made the new album: vocals were recorded by Rymer in bed while Bjørnkjær recorded the scores with the Prague Symphony Orchestra.

Disco To Die, out March 26th April 29th via Fake Diamond and the band's own Clapyouclapme imprint.
