Shout Out Louds Announce New Album + Free Download of New Song

Sweden's Shout Out Louds will release their new LP Work on February 23, 2010 through Merge. The Phil Ek (The Shins, Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses) produced album was recorded in Seattle and is the first release of new material since 2007's Our Ill Wills.

Following a year of touring behind their last album, the band (singer/main songwriter Adam Olenius, keyboard/vocalist Bebban Stenborg, drummer Eric Edman, bassist Ted Malmros and guitarist Carl von Arbin) went their separate ways -- no worries, it wasn't in a negative "Go Your Own Way" kind of way. The band took a much needed break, with members living in Australia, Los Angeles, and Stockholm. During this downtime, Olenius composed many of the new songs in a small room in Australia with a little synthesizer, an acoustic guitar, and GarageBand. He then sent the songs to the others and from there the songs were gradually fine-tuned until they became Work.

The new album features a much more stripped down sound. You can check out the piano-driven first track "Walls" below.

Work is out 2/23/10 on Merge. You can preorder it here right now.
