This song has been out for quite some time on the band's 2009 album Up from Below, but I noticed that RCRD LBL was sharing the song as a free download and I just had to throw it up on the site for those unfamiliar with the song.
I was driving somewhere the first time I heard this song, which made it hard to focus on the road. I was immediately taken by it -- whether by its accessibility or by its '60s aesthetic. The melody is catchy and produces an easy hook for the ears. The interplay between singers Alex Ebert and Jade Castrinos brings the theme of the song full circle, and works well over the tight-knit group dynamic of the band. It's as if someone took the music of a good spaghetti western and mixed it with just the right amount of pop.
