SEE: Cake unveils teaser for new single "Long Time"

Right. At this point it's pretty clear that I'm big Cake fan. Showroom of Compassion, which the band self-released January 11, seems to have garnered a pretty serious buzz for the decade-old establishment-hating boys from Sacramento. That said:

In an interesting turn of events, Cake has moved on from self-produced videos and turned to Callicore Films, of Paris, for an animated take on single "Long Time". The single has everything from the signature trumpet lines backed by ho's and hey's, to lovelorn lyrics and straight and snappy drum lines. One thing is for sure, Cake are on their own mission, and nothing is going to stop them from going in a direction that most of us can't see coming.

Check out the teaser for the video "Long Time" and ponder, along with the rest of us, what the heck the band was thinking...after the hop of course.

Showroom Of Compassion on Amazon. You can pick it up on iTunes, or hey, how about this: your local record store!
