MP3: Dr. Dog - "Stranger"
Honest and funky. Funky and honest. Can you be one with the other? Of course you can be. With the strong backbone of the bass riff, "Stranger" builds itself up with a lot of different instruments, including brass. And, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it kind of reminds of when Chicago rocked hard in the '70s -- with more of a subtle use of brass instruments -- before they started getting all soft and schmaltzy in the '80s. Again, that's just my two cents. Check it out above for yourself.
"Stranger" is off Dr. Dog's forthcoming LP entitled Shame, Shame. It's scheduled for release on April 6th via Anti-.
The band will be performing on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on April 6th, as well.
