Stars Set to Release New Album June 22

Canada's Stars will release their fifth LP entitled The Five Ghosts on June 22nd. The album is the follow-up to the band's critically-acclaimed 2007 effort, In Our Bedroom After the War. Five Ghosts is also the first release on the band's own newly established Soft Revolution Records (outside of Canada it will be released through Vagrant Records).

For the new LP, the band returned to producer Tom McFall, who recorded their breakthrough Set Yourself On Fire in 2005. All five members contributed during the songwriting process. Vocalist Amy Millan says, "We have never written an album with this much cohesion and unity. It is the first time we've had the luxury of being together in a huge room writing songs off the floor. The Five Ghosts is quintessential Stars."

This summer, the band will hit the road on a U.S. tour where they will play The Five Ghosts in it's entirety, along with fan chosen selections from their catalogue. Details on dates and tickets will be announced through the band's web site, www.youarestars.com.
