The Mother Hips: Time As An Influence and Lesson

For nearly two decades California's Mother Hips have been turning out their own mix of 70's rock and power pop. The band released Pacific Dust, its seventh studio album, via Camera Records on October 27th. They've tested and honed their sound over years of touring, gathering inspiration and plenty of stories to tell along the way. When you work for so long with the same people, you tend to perfect your sound into one that is homegrown and infused with a subtle combination of your influences -- in this case bands/artists such as Big Star, Bob Dylan, and fellow Californian band Buffalo Springfield.
