With a verse reminiscent of Beach House, a chorus built on a tidal wave of guitar a la My Bloody Valentine, and an overall dreamlike quality in the vein of Slowdive, it's hard not to like Panda Riot. While singer Rebecca Scott's ethereal vocals are a perfect example of those ravishing shoegaze-style vocals, she's never buried in the mix of things. This dream pop gem is nothing short of gorgeous in the verse and blooms into a chorus where things come to life with the droning, dive-bar guitar work and the rise-and-fall path of the vocal hook. Panda Riot is sort of like an auditory representation of your dreams, so they might as well be scoring them, too.
