MP3: Kim Taylor - "Lost and Found"
The word "moving" is thrown around a lot, and is sometimes overused to the point where it just becomes a generalization rather than a truly descriptive adjective. But in the case of Kim Taylor's "Lost and Found," the word is fully embodied and defined. It's one thing to make a ballad of some kind and then fill it with trite lyrics that never amount to much, but it's another thing to make such a song and fill it with a message and lyrics that do mean something. Through captivating piano and the addition of soulful organ, "Lost and Found" becomes something more than it is at its roots. I'm playing it again (and again...and again) because it's the type of song that grows on you, that increasingly becomes something that is, yes, moving. It's also one of the few piano-driven songs that I've found myself turning up the volume for.
BUY: "Lost and Found" is from Kim Taylor's new album, Little Miracle. It will be available digitally as well as physically across the U.S. on September 21st.
