Some of the songs on the new album were actually written as possible contributions to the Twilight: New Moon film. In a press release, Tucker says, "They didn't work for the movie, but I kept them anyway. The themes work exactly. The monsters, beasts and demons, all those things working on you. I think there’s a lot of personal angst in that story."
MP3: The Corin Tucker Band - "Doubt"
It's a scorcher. From Riot Grrrl to Riot Woman, Corin Tucker has developed a sound and style all her own, with a bag of hooks and riffs that's bound to get your foot tapping and/or your head banging. One of the most distinguishing features of Tucker's work is her amazing set of pipes, which are as strong as ever on "Doubt". There's a bit of Southern soul in that powerhouse of a voice, too.
The Corin Tucker Band will be touring in support of 1,000 Years. Now that Tucker is a stay-at-home mom, you best catch the band on tour if you can since there won't be too much touring behind the album. Dates after the jump as well as the cover art and tracklisting for 1,000 Years.
