Hear & Download New Bon Iver Track "Calgary"

The day has finally arrived. Bon Iver just released a track entitled "Calgary" from their highly-anticipated sophomore album. As previously reported, the self-titled effort features 10 tracks and is due out June 21st via Jagjaguwar. Before now, we'd only been teased with this short video that featured a clip of a new song. Rejoice! Hear and download "Calgary" below.

"Calgary" is a bit of a departure from the acoustic frame of Bon Iver's seminal breakthrough debut For Emma, Forever Ago. That album was recorded over four years ago, and since then, Bon Iver mastermind Justin Vernon has had his hands full working on many other projects, including Volcano Choir, Gayngs, and Kanye West's epic My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Of those aforementioned projects, the '80s sound and euphoric quality of Gayngs is most evident on "Calgary." Vernon layers his voice, singing gently over an airy synth backdrop -- just as if he is set in a thick, white cloud. The song picks up when percussion enters, but, overall, this is blissful dream pop that's rather ambitious compared to the intimate, singer-songwriter style of For Emma.

Bon Iver is out June 21st through Jagjaguwar. Pre-order the album here.
