Have you ever heard what a daydream sounds like? A listen through "Dry Ice" certainly feels like one, with its spacey, washed out guitar chords ebbing and flowing out of your eardrums. It's this mirage of languid waves that begins to make you feel just as blissful and confused as singer Nate Grace. He's got a thing for this girl, but she's hard to read; it's a beautiful feeling, but a rather disorienting feeling, as well. If a daydream ever had a soundtrack, "Dry Ice" would be it.
Pure X (formerly Pure Ecstasy) is the latest incarnation of a long-standing collaboration
between Austin, Texas musicians and long-term friends Nate Grace, Jesse Jenkins and Austin Youngblood.
"Dry Ice" is from Pure X's debut album, Pleasure, out July 5th on Acéphale Records.
