LISTEN: Graham Czach - "Windows" + "Lost In Life"
By
Quinn S.
Graham Czach - "Windows"
"Windows" is tight and yet ever so fluid. It starts subtly enough, but eventually kicks into something incredibly powerful and uplifting. Czach cites Jeff Buckley as an influence, and it's certainly evident here -- especially when he hits those insanely high notes vocally. Czach works in tension and release and can deal quite a kick going effortlessly from the soft to the quick and loud. He's an incredibly skilled musician, but is also sensitive to how a gripping melody can be just as effective as an impressive guitar solo. The music is thoughtfully arranged without sacrificing or diminishing the emotion that motivates the notes to pour out of each instrument.
More after the hop.

New Minus the Bear Song "My Time"
By
Quinn S.

As previously reported, Minus the Bear is set to release their new LP, OMNI, on May 4th through Dangerbird Records. You've already heard the b-side "Broken China" and now, you can hear "My Time" straight off the new album.
LISTEN: Minus the Bear - "My Time"
It's a bit of a departure from the band's old stuff. It's a funk/r & b hybrid -- just listen to the guitar and that synth. "My Time" is like Minus the Bear's slick club jam. Just stop reading this and go listen to it already.
You can pre-order the new album here, as well.
And if you're bored, you can play the new OMNI game, aka the Minus the Bear version of Simon!

Minus the Bear Announce Headlining Tour For the Fall
By
Quinn S.

Before Minus the Bear release their highly anticipated fourth album in early 2010, the band will be heading out on a fall headlining tour beginning October 30th in Eugene, Oregon. As previously reported, the band has been working with Grammy-award winning producer Joe Chiccarelli (My Morning Jacket, The White Stripes) on the as-yet-untitled album. Over the past four months, the band has been holed up at Avast! Recording Co. fine tuning an album that according to guitarist Dave Knudson "has more scope than the past records." Knudson says, "Some songs are more poppy and immediate while others expand on the complexities we're known for."
Minus the Bear will be releasing the album's first single, "Into The Mirror," on October 27th. The single will be paired with b-side "Broken China" and will be available only as a 7" and through digital music stores.
