The desert. The lonesome, reverb-coated guitar chords of a Spaghetti Western made all the more chiling with flourishes of synthesizer and chilling voices. The music progresses into a Cure-meets-Depeche Mode vibe. It flows down to blips and beeps of synthesized drums and the airy chords of the Western guitar, picking up again with whip cracks/handclaps until it eventually leaves us in desert alone with the cycling dust and eerie howl of wind. Singer Marie Fisker sounds like a cross between Chan Marshall, Sharen O, and Beach House's Victoria Legrand. Her voice is like the wind, so inescapable and ethereal. It's rich in tone and loaded with soul.
