LISTEN: J Irvin Dally

A troubadour moves according to his or her own compass, guided more by heart than by nautical direction. Life is a journey of exploration and growth, and the troubadour knows this to be absolute truth. This is a more modern understanding and concept of what a troubadour is compared to the term's medieval roots, but even then a troubadour is someone who is rather insightful in regards to things most people know little about.

California folk artist J Irvin Dally writes with an expansive mental eye and a penchant for explorative arrangements and melodic poeticism. With just an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar, he can wander into areas of the singer/songwriter paradigm that have yet to be explored. Dally’s music captures that adventurous spirit of the troubadour without relying on the typical rustic, road-weathered storytelling. He mixes the headspace of psychedelic with the honesty and melodiousness of folk to create something that is both captivating and transportive.

J Irvin Dally just released a new single entitled “Sun Room” which you can hear/download, along with two other songs, after the hop. Scope his tour dates, as well.
