LISTEN: Mogwai - "San Pedro"

MP3: Mogwai - "San Pedro"

We've already heard "Rano Pano," and now we have a second track from the new, brilliantly-titled Mogwai album Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will. "San Pedro" isn't slow-building and moves with a buzzing freneticism, especially compared to its predecessor. It has more post-hardcore in it than post-rock, favoring texture over mood with its intertwining riffs. It's as if "Rano Pano" embodies the dark, foreboding skies on the right side of the album's cover and "San Pedro" captures the congested, bustling city life on the opposite side. This proposed contrast on the album is getting me excited to hear more.

Scope the tracklisting for Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will as well as the band's upcoming tour dates after the hop.
