Portland's Quiet Life have just released the music video for "No Surprise," the third single from their new album,
Big Green. It's a beautifully shot story about a man and woman, very much in love, who appear almost nomadic as they drive around in an old pickup truck with a bunch of furniture and home decor packed in the bed. They make various stops along the way, unloading pieces of their home only to end up leaving the items behind as they continue on down the road. It's a wonderfully poetic piece that captures the essence of the age-old saying, "Home is where the heart is." The man and woman -- by leaving their material items behind and eventually shedding their material skin through the act of taking off their clothes -- illustrate that love is the only thing anyone ever needs, that human relationships are what matter most. If that concept alone isn't beautiful, I don't know what is.
It's
almost NSFW. Phew.
