Railbird - "Hushaby"
It's nothing that you expected; in its unpredictability is a great strength. "Hushaby" is one of those songs that defies classification, knocking you back with its hybrid of funk, hip-hop, pop, and hints of experimentalism. Railbird (aka Sarah K. Pedinotti or SKP) uses her mastery of rhythm to her advantage, accentuating the cadence of her words that intertwine ever so tightly with the dance of guitar riffs, drums, and background vocals. This is the type of song you return to because, honestly, there's always something new to appreciate. "Hushaby" is free, celebratory, engaging, and an all-around adventure, without losing its edge.
