Masters of the Hemisphere Return, Download New Song "Belushi"

It's been almost nine years since Athens, GA indie pop quartet Masters of the Hemisphere disbanded, and, outside of a brief reunion in 2006, they've remained inactive. But now, they're back together sounding better than ever and will release a brand new studio album, Maybe These Are The Breaks, via Kindercore Records (digital) and Magic Marker (CD/LP) on October 4th. To mark the their return, tape label Modern Country will also be issuing a cassette box set of the band's entire catalog (with unreleased bonus tracks) in addition to a cassette version of the new album.

Hear and download a cut from Maybe These Are The Breaks below entitled "Belushi" below.

A listen through "Belushi" and it's clear that this band has some history -- not to mention great chemistry. It's a tight, well-composed track with crisp, perfectly distorted guitar chords punctuating the beat of the verses and bright vocal harmonies creating a rather dreamy atmosphere in the choruses. There's a bit of a New Wave feel to the choruses, as well, which only adds to the charm of the song. It's fun, energetic, and kicks off the comeback on a high note.

Maybe These Are The Breaks is out October 4th through Kindercore Records (digital) and Magic Marker (CD/LP).
