LISTEN: Japandroids Share "The House That Heaven Built" from New Album

As previously reported around the web, Vancouver rock 'n' roll duo (some may say "garage rock" or "noise pop" duo) Japandroids are set to release their third album, Celebration Rock, on June 5th via Polyvinyl. Today, the guys unleashed a fierce new track, "The House That Heaven Built," from their highly anticipated follow-up to 2009's critically-acclaimed Post-Nothing. Take it for a spin. High volume is recommended.

If Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band started toying with pop punk, it might wind up sounding something not all that different from this. With gang vocals shouting out Oh's, David Prowse drumming a hole in the air, and Brian King's impassioned singing and furious strumming, "The House That Heaven Built" is resounding, resilient, and a whole lot of fun. If you were looking for your official kickoff to summer, here you go. This certainly leads me to believe the album is sure to live up to its title.

"The House That Heaven Built" will be released as a 7" on May 15th b/w a cover of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' "Jack the Ripper." You can pre-order the 7" as well as Celebration Rock here.
