I had an evening flight back home that departed just as dusk was setting. As the plane ascended, the sun began its descent behind the horizon. And even though the light was fading, the sun seemed inexplicably radiant as if it was radioactive, about to bleed its brilliant shades of red and orange across the sky. There are moments in life that cannot in any way be honestly, or accurately, described with words. These are the types of moments that need to be seen in order to be truly expressed. This sunset was one of those moments. It was one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced in my life, if not the most amazing. I couldn't snap a photograph of it, but Alek Fin's "Waiting Like A Wolf" seems to capture this awe-inspiring experience with the use of sound.
This song is just too gorgeous for words. One of the most amazing pieces of music I've heard this year.
"Waiting For A Wolf" is a haunting voyage through a surreal, ethereal landscape, one that feels simply spellbinding. And despite drawing most of its strength from atmospheric beauty, there's a magnetic sense of melody in the mix, as well. It's a cerebral electronic piece that still finds a way to be incredibly emotional.
