LISTEN: The Romany Rye - "All The Boys"

MP3: The Romany Rye - "All The Boys"

Sorrow gives way to such overwhelming emotion. It's a singular feeling that is more a floodgate, opening up the heart and soul to the weight of the conscience. The mind drowns with the thoughts of so many things. It's the sound of a Bob Dylan song, telling it like it is. Pedal steel capturing just the way things feel in the moment: distant but so very present. It's the sound of isolation in the depths of the night, in the driver seat at the break of dawn. You can escape a great many things, but you can't escape your own thoughts.

"All The Boys" is from Romany Rye's debut album, Highway 1, Look Back Carefully.

The Romany Rye is headed out with Delta Spirit and is on tour now through the end of July. Dates here.

Haha, true true -- at least in the verses. I can hear that. Can't believe I didn't catch it.
