Like Pioneers Releasing Debut Album, Hear It Now

Chicago's Like Pioneers are set to officially release their debut album, Piecemeal, through Abandoned Love Records on August 17th. The album is currently available digitally at the band's Bandcamp page (name your own price).

The band features members of Bound Stems and The Narrator, and was formed this past December. Piecemeal was recorded in just two weekends in December and January, with members of the aforementioned bands along with members of Vacations, Chin Up Chin Up, and a few other bands meeting up in the studio to complete the album. So, I guess you could say Like Pioneers work pretty quickly.

Like Pioneers have an exciting sound that's sort of like an eclair: looks delicious on the outside and is even better on the inside. On songs like "English Garden" and "Metal Oscar" they sound a bit like The New Pornographers while on "Some People" and "Teakettles No. 1" they sound just a bit like The Walkmen with more of a pop leaning. Piecemeal shows a band that knows how to wear its influences well. Hear the whole album below.
