As reported a few weeks back, Gang of Four will release a new album entitled Content on January 25, 2011 through Yep Roc. The album is the first collection of new material from the band in nearly 16 years. The last studio album was 1995's Shrinkwrapped. But you don't have to wait until next year to hear new Gang of Four, because below you can check out a cut from Content called "Never Pay For the Farm."
Gang of Four - "Never Pay For the Farm"
Well, if there's one thing to say about this song it's that Gang of Four haven't drifted far from their roots; they haven't evolved to a point that makes them unrecognizable or less than what they used to be. Guttural bass abounds and things get wild with Andy Gill's distorted guitar aggression. If anything, "Never Pay For the Farm" proves that, as they've grown older, Gang of Four have shown no intention of slowing down or of dialing back the attitude and energy. Their sound is just as relevant and exciting now as it was back in the late '70s and early '80s.
