VIDEO: The Oranges Band - "Ride the Nuclear Wave" (10th Anniversary Show)

Baltimore's The Oranges Band have been at it for a decade now. Over the past few months, they've been celebrating their 10 year anniversary by heading out on tour with The Hold Steady and playing a few 10th anniversary shows on the east coast. A lot has changed for the band over the years, but frontman Roman Kuebler (one-time bassist for Spoon) is dedicated to the band's music. He has an unwavering spirit and great pride in the band's music and legacy. Kuebler and co. have turned out consistently strong material over the past 10 years, most recently with the criminally-overlooked The Oranges Band...Are Invisible, released at the tail end of 2008.

To commemorate the band's birthday, Mixtape Muse will be posting a number of various items on the band in the next month or so. Keep your eyes peeled for concert footage and an interview that I conducted last year with Kuebler.

Below is the first of a handful of videos from The Oranges Band's 10th anniversary show in D.C. I made the drive to D.C. one Friday night a couple of weeks ago with Wye Oak's The Knot and a borrowed camera. This was my first attempt at filming a live show. I didn't have access to the soundboard, and, as a result, the audio was recorded with the camera's built-in microphone. Enjoy!
